TEENAGER Sindy Smith has just finished Year 12, and now she's dancing at a new multi-billion-dollar theme park in China.

The 18-year-old from Croydon South has been hired as a dancer at the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom theme park on Hengqin Island, Zhuhai.

Smith said she would be performing and living at the $2 billion theme park.

"I will be dancing over there in the shows and all the parades doing showgirl, cabaret-style dancing with big feathers, sequins and bikinis," Smith said.

"There will be dancers from all over the world who have been offered the same opportunity as me."

The long-awaited Chimlong International Ocean Resort at Hengqin is embracing its first grand event this winter. The China International Circus Festival makes its debut in the Chimelong International Circus Town between tomorrow and Dec. 1, 2013.

Around 30 of the world’s top circuses and acrobatics teams from 17 countries will perform. Performances include clowns, aerial acrobatics, stage acrobatics, animal acts and magic.

Don't expect too much from the theming and dark rides in this park. Ocean World will open soon, too soon... and nothing will be ready!

Hengquin is connected to Macau through two underwater tunnels. By 2016, it will also be linked to Macau in the east and Hong Kong to the north by a bridge. Rail services will also be extended to Hengqin.

The marine-themed Chimelong resort, headed by Chinese businessman Su Zhigang, is the biggest project to open on the island this year. Its coral-hued towers, topped by blue onion-domes, will house 1,880 hotel rooms, a conference center, a spa and an indoor water park.
