Hero Island will be home to three new rides - two Zierer coasters and a Zamperla Samba Tower

New information and concept art has been released for Chimelong Ocean Kingdom's upcoming new themed land called "Hero Island." Hero Island's storyline picks up where the 5D theater's movie ends. After defeating the villains, the movie's three main characters, teenage tigers Kaka and Kiki, and the Ocean Genie, a magical young whale shark pixie, fly away on a parrot over the audience. Now, Kaka and Kiki have returned from victory and landed on Hero Island, and guests can follow along and help Kaka and Kiki defeat monsters. Checkpoints will be located throughout Hero Island where guests will be able to earn a "Heroes Passport."

You may recall that I posted in January that Chimelong Group had acquired 420,000 square meters of land across the street from Chimelong Ocean Kingdom for about 32 million US dollars. The land is connected to the new railway station being built (expected to be operational by the end of the year). Now, Chimelong has submitted a construction permit for "Chimelong Adventure Park," a new third gate that will be part of Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort. Chimelong Adventure Park will be on the 420,000 square meters of land that was purchased in January. The land is mountainous and was originally planned to be used for a hilltop observation wheel, observation tower, and large wooden coaster. Chimelong earlier this month shared that preparations are underway for a "gondola lift" and "mountaintop park." I believe that Chimelong Adventure Park will be the mountaintop park and guests will take gondola lifts to reach the park.

The "Fun Zone," "Ocean Outdoor Theatre," and "Sea Birds Paradise" areas of the park have were closed off earlier this month so construction can begin on on the new themed land that will be taking over those area. The new themed land, which can be seen on left side of the newly released park map (pictured below), will include everything in the three currently closed areas plus two new Zierer coasters, a Zamperla Samba Tower, and three other unidentified structures (maybe new animal exhibits?). EXCLUSIVE: New themed area featuring a Zierer coaster is coming to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom!

The new themed area will be located near the Ocean Outdoor Theater and Sea Bird Paradise.

Two updates regarding long term expansion plans for the resort:

1. Chimelong Group recently acquired a little over 100 acres (420,000 square meters) of land across the street from Chimelong Ocean Kingdom for about 32 million US dollars. The land is right behind the new railway station being built. It looks like its the same land that Chimelong was going to use for an observation wheel, observation tower and wooden roller coaster (concept art for that is the thumbnail of this thread).

According to the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) on Wednesday, China will prohibit business-oriented land reclamation activities and halt all reclamation projects that do not conform with relevant policies, launching the strictest-ever measures to control reclamation.

The authority of local governments to approve land reclamation will also be abolished.

This came after a special inspection into the matter by the SOA, which has found serious problems in the approval, monitoring and purposes of reclamation.

This may affect Chimelong's plans for a new artificial island that would be formed through land reclamation just down the street from Chimelong Ocean Kingdom off the coast of Hengqin Island.

Good to see, that the "Rainforest Drop Tower" has been built by Intamin. Tower 1 is 25m hight and Tower 2 is 40m High.

Chimelong is planning to develop an artificial island off the coast of the current theme park. The island will have a large theater, "maritime museum" and resorts. Reclamation to form the island will take 24 months. This is in addition to the current expansion that's already under construction.
