Adlabs Imagica, a 300-acre theme park from media and entertainment firm Adlabs, opened for the public on Monday.

Another Adlabs Imagica in Hyderabad?

"We have already signed on the project. If everything goes well, then we will look at setting up the next theme park in Hyderabad by the end of the year. This will be about 60 per cent of the present park (Mumbai) in terms of investment and will be spread over about 60 acres," Shetty told PTI, after announcing the formal opening of the Imagica theme park.

There is absolutely no hotel around. How are people going to stay for 2 days? Sleep in the car?

As Disney fiends, we are looking forward to visiting Imagica & I’ve been following progress online. Finally called their helpline today with two very simple questions... whether weekend entertainment (fireworks, shows) is better / more than weekday entertainment & where to stay nearby, since Imagica claims guests need two days to fully appreciate the Park. My heart broke a little to hear how idiotic, robotic & ineffective the customer service personnel are... much more MTNL, than Disney. I really believed the spiel about the world class theme park etc... how can the management allow the first point of contact for guests to be so ordinary. Quick ‘Disney’ tip... it takes effort to create all pervasive ‘magic’. Very disappointing!

We were one of the lucky few to go into Imagica for Free trial run.

And I can say that they have truly word class rides. This is after visiting Disney and Universal theme parks all around the world.

The toughest part wasn't putting up the complex. Shetty had a hard time acquiring land and convincing Indian banks he had a viable project.

"They didn't know what theme parks are," he said. "All the public sector undertaking banks haven't been to Orlando or Disneyland, so it took time to convince them."
