Someone who visited the construction site the other day posted a few photos online and I'm not entirely sure but I believe these photos show the new transit station which is now beginning to rise above ground...

More interestingly though is another photo that this person shared of the layout of Universal Beijing Resort:

What's significant in this image is that I notice two very distinct changes to the design. First, the waterpark which is to the left of CityWalk now has a grey rectangle over part of it. This is speculation but I wonder if the grey rectangle is a building and so the waterpark will be partially indoors. Second, and even more significant is at the theme park itself next to Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmead was originally a large area with nothing which would be used for a future expansion. Now in this new layout something appears to be there. The location in relation to Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmead is exactly where the new roller coaster is being built at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando. This is total speculation and not official, but I suspect that the new coaster coming to Islands of Adventure is also coming to Universal Studios Beijing and will be opening at the same time as everything else, not as an eventual expansion.

Additional new photos from the construction site. Note that the area pictured is the west side of the resort which is where future expansions will be built...

This morning in Beijing, the contractor for Universal Beijing, Beijing Construction Engineering Group Co Ltd, brought the Chinese media out to showcase their "Miscellaneous Soils Recycling Program." The program uses a specially-built temporary disposal production line that processes the "miscellaneous soils" on site into recycled aggregate and reduced soil, which is then used for backfilling the earth at the site. This machinery is located at the construction site west of the theme park towards where the second theme park will eventually be built. The contractor announced that "the first construction phase of the Universal Studios theme park in Beijing is going smoothly." Pictured is photos of the disposal production line from today and the cranes seen in the background are for the theme park. Additional photos of the recycling program from earlier this year can be found on post #132 on this thread: https://www.themeparx.com/universal-studios-beijing/?p=11429#post11429

On May 22 a new construction milestone was reached for the upcoming metro station that will lead into CityWalk! The main structure of the station has been completed. I could be incorrect but based on photos it seems that "main structure" means the underground part of the station is done but the outdoor part including the rolling canopy shown in concept art is what's not complete. The metro station will begin operation at some point next year.

Concept art of the metro station (scroll down to older posts for additional concept art):
