  1. Looking at the aerial in post #63, surely the entrance to Star Tours is simply being moved to join the corner of the new land, same as the entrance to Toy Story Midway Mania is being moved?

  2. I think that a Flight of Passage"-like motion simulator is far more likely (I'm not even sure if a roller coaster could even fit into that relatively small show-building). I think that the only way that your "Volcano Mine Train" could be built is to build it somewhere else or to demolish Star Tours.

  3. I think the most plausible fate for Star Tours would be an Indiana Jones retheming since the Indy Jones show is right next door. Echo lake could take on a more Indiana Jones persona? Muppets Courtyard will most likely stay considering they have added a new restaurant and bathrooms and have really been working on that area. Possibly they might retheme Star Tours to some sort of "Muppet Vision 4D"? My guess is that Star Tours will be rethemed but not destroyed. The greater question in my opinion is: what will become of the Star Wars launch bay? Hopefully "Animation Courtyard" continues to be themed accordingly.
I thought that I had read somewhere that Star Wars Launch Bay would be closing once Episode 9 is released & Star Wars Land opens...

An Indiana Jones re-theme of Star Tours I think is much more likely than "Muppets 4D", since there already is Muppetvision 3D next door. One idea that I could see is Star Tours being partially gutted & getting new open-air "jeep-like" vehicles (similar to Dinosaur) all positioned in front of one enormous screen (similar to Flight of Passage, Back to the Future: The Ride - best example - or Soarin'). It could essentially combine the Indiana Jones Adventure / Dinosaur vehicles, mounted onto a "Flight of Passage"-like mechanism. It would be like Indiana Jones Adventure 3.0. I could especially see this since Disney has confirmed that there will be an "Indiana Jones 5" film. Also, people have wanted Indiana Jones Adventure in Florida for many, many years.

I think the key fact here is the nature of the new Star Wars Land being an immersive, real time place. It will not be able to have Darth Vader and Han Solo, or events from the original trilogy (which ALL SW fans do and will want), it will not be able to have an attraction or meet and greet with characters and events from the beloved original trilogy, with a very few exceptions like Chewie or the droids. Everything Star Tours currently does would not fit the theme of Star Wars Land. So I think it will have to stay, and will not be out of place, but a welcome place to have characters and themes that CANNOT be explored in SW land. And I think an Indie attraction could and should replace the current one, but it is a massive area, and there would be room for it as is without butting into Star Tours. I think a volcano mine train ride would be the way to go, themed similar to Disneyland's Indie attraction but on steroids. Muppets Courtyard will surely stay as is, because as I mentioned, Star Tours and SW Land are so very different, it will seem natural that there be a physical barrier between them.

One is about a movie, the other IS a movie guests are participating in. Quite different really.

  6. I see what you're saying about Muppets Courtyard, but I don't think that's what they're planning. They just built that new Gonzo themed bathroom and cleaned up that area. I think that piece between the remaining New York street facade and the Muppets courtyard will stay, and they'll funnel you into SW Land at the end of the NEw York facade.

Star Tours certainly does seem to create issues with its current location. I can't imagine they get rid of it, but I guess we'll see.
It could stay since the new Star Wars Land will only be taking place in the sequel trilogy timeline (Episodes 7-9), however I think that once Star Wars Land opens, all sequel trilogy scenes will be removed (and possibly replaced) in Star Tours. Another possibility would be to re-theme it to the "Star Wars Stories" spinoffs, that way it would be almost entirely separate (kind of like how Rogue One is not an "Episode").

  8. How is there any plausible way to move the entrance of Star Tours to incorporate it into the new land? There is no party of Star Wars Land that connects to Star Tours. After the New York facade, visitors will go through a tunnel of some kind and into SW Land. Just don't see how they can make Star Tours a part of it.
Could Star Wars land not possibly surround Muppet's Courtyard? I could also unfortunately see the demolition of Muppets Courtyard as well (MuppetVision already closed in Disney's California Adventure & was never even built in Walt Disney Studios Paris). Is an underground tunnel possible (underneath Muppets)?

Something much more likely (and realistic) that I could also see occurring is Star Tours either being replaced (maybe with Hong Kong's Iron Man Experience or Tokyo's Nemo & Friends SeaRider) or demolished. If this does occur, then I could see elements of the Star Tours Queue (AT-AT; Endor / Tatooine Facade; Droid Animatronics) being incorporated into Star Wars Land.

In early February, DLR Battle Escape was about where things are at in DHS right now. There was a flurry of activity within a couple week period. The supercollider had its wooden molds up sometime between Jan. 28th and Feb 4th, with the first hint of vertical structure on the end of the building seen on Feb 9th. out http://www.themeparx.com/star-wars-land-disneyland/?page=9

To me it is clear in comparing this picture with the Jan. 28th DLR pic, that the rounded area is indeed the beginnings of the "supercollider". The placement looks almost exact. I think it will become clear within the next week when the molds are in place. Perhaps there are separate crews for each end and one happened to get ahead of the other in DHS compared with DLR. Or perhaps with the tightness of the roadway between the potential supercollider and muppets they will wait longer to get going on it. Either way I think it is clear when you compare the images that it is already roughed in.

Very interesting that Orlando seems to less than 4 months behind Anaheim now (comparing when they each went vertical on Battle Escape). It used to look like 6+ months. I hope they keep catching up!
