  1. Attendance steadily on the rise? It was over 45% YoY in the first half of 2018, then slowed to 5% YoY in the 3 months to September 2018.

  2. Footfall is steadily on the rise... +30% this year so far. World Expo 2020 will bring 25 million visitors to the city Vs 16 Million in 2018. This will result in increased attendance across the parks. Wait & see.

  3. Agree that the area is a ghost matter the rides you bring in or the pace of development. Six Flags Dubai can't live up to true thrill park entertainment and ride experience.
There simply isn't the talent, management and number of visitors there to create and maintain a sustainable theme park.

The turn-over is incomprehensible and therefore the consistency in design and quality of experience will suffer. Many roller coaster type rides will be filled with only a handful of visitors , if that - That level of attendance cannot sustain the operating costs over the long term

The budget is completely secured for the park and more than 60 percent of the rides’ parts have arrived and last week new parts arrived at Jebel Ali port. The construction is on hold for a while because they are enhancing the design to avoid mistakes which they had before. By enhancing, I mean the park is still planned but with major improvements.

  5. They cannot pay for what was already built, they sure as heck cannot afford to build Six Flags. The site is a ghost town, and I think expecting anything to be built at this point which will live up to expectations of a true Six Flags experience is pure folly.

  6. DXB Entertainments now has all feasible options for Six Flags Dubai.

A spokesman for DXB Entertainments told Zawya by email on Wednesday that "all feasible options for Six Flags Dubai are being considered and the full results of the review, including recommendations regarding the scale of the project and timing, will be presented to the board before the end of the year".

The park was due for completion by the end of next year, but Ireland told analysts "we have slowed down marginally on the project" while the review takes place. Ghantoot Road Contracting is main contractor on the project. It was not available for comment.

  7. This was already announced mid-August, nothing new. I bet they will push it back to end of 2020 or early 2021 for the Expo.

  8. As DXB Entertainments continue to struggle, they officially announced the Six Flags Dubai review.

Do not worry, the project is in progress and it's happening, the team is improving the park's design.

I really hope so. This is the project that DPR Needs to secure it as the theme park capital of the UAE.
