Planting of the Chinese Chestnut Oak Tree, as previously reported in this thread.

The tree, which was moved from its hometown Zhejiang, could ultimately grow to over 30 meters and will become the tallest tree in the theme park’s Pirates-themed land.

    Disney Store construction!

    From Disney and More (Facebook):
Let's go back to Shanghaî, not in the park this time, but in Shanghaî itself to have a look at the construction of the Disney Store thanks to these two pictures posted by HK Main Street Gazette. The store, which is supposed to be one of the biggest in the world, if not the biggest, is a bit late in its opening, but is still planned to open this year. And most probably there will be a Shanghaî Disneyland preview area in it.
The store will cover a massive 53,000 square feet (5,000 square meters) in the Lujiazui site in Shanghai's financial hub. The store will feature a state-of-the art Disney Store retail space covering 10,800 square feet and a Disney-themed outdoor plaza area. In the interior of the store, families and kids will be able to interact with their favorite characters and stories from across Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.

    From screamscape.com. Jet Packs!

...a unique new ride coming to Tomorrowland at Shanghai Disneyland called the Jet Packs. Many simply wrote this off as behind just a new name for the Astro-Orbiter style spinner ride found in other Tomorrowlands, but it seems this is not the case.... The big difference will be that instead of riding inside a rocket or spaceship car, riders will be strapped to a “Jet Pack”, allowing their legs the dangle freely below them while they spin and fly.
...I’ve been told to imagine having an Inverted coaster seat mounted to the end of a giant pole. While riders will have the ability to control the up and down movements, at one point I had heard that they might also be given the ability to spin around 360º as well.

Iger said that Shanghai Disneyland is coming along nicely, major construction will be wrapped at the end of this year. Disney is planning a grand opening in spring 2016. Said the park will feature the company's grandest castle yet.

This is how Shanghai Disneyland Walt Disney Theatre will look like:

Designed by John Sergio Fisher & Associates, this will be part of phase I of a performing arts center in Shanghai Disney Resort.
This 1,200 seat dual use theatre will host park shows during the daytime and Broadway touring shows in the evening. The stage has a fully motorized rigging system and a fully trapped stage.

At 963 acres the new park is much larger than its Hong Kong forbear, and Disney owns only 43% of it, though it gets 70% of the management company running the resort. The rest of those assets belong to a consortium of state-owned companies known as Shanghai Shendi Group.
