Given the area and the layout, I think this is the most likely way its going to be built with the boundary hugging the existing construction on the beachfront.

LEGOLAND Windsor are getting a much-needed expansion and update.

The proposals, which were submitted back in June 2017, had been recommended for refusal by the Council Planning Officer due to concerns over the development being on green belt land, and that the holiday village would see a number of mature trees damaged. The application also received a number of objections from local residents, however there was also a lot of support for the plans with some residents recognising the potential benefits the development could bring to the surrounding area. After debating for almost two hours, local councillors eventually decided to vote in favour of the plans, although due to the fact that the development does include green belt land, the plans will need to be referred to the secretary of state for communities for final consent.
The approved plans will see a total of eight projects undertaken at the Resort. Legoland Windsor have already announced The Haunted House attraction which will constitute their 2019 development. Also included within the scheme are plans for three ‘attraction zones’ which will feature a new indoor attraction – referred to in some documents as a potential rollercoaster, and two fairground style rides. With Legoland Florida recently announcing the LEGO Movie World, could these ‘attraction zones’ indicate where Windsor’s LEGO Movie World would be located within the park?

The largest development will be the addition of a 450 room holiday village which will be built in three phases. The village will include both lodge accommodation and ‘Lego Barrels’, similar to those seen in Legoland Deutschland. Also included will be a building housing the reception, restaurant, shop, and entertainment facilities.

In a meeting with the Government Planning Inspectorate held on 9th March, London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), the developers behind the project, outlined their plans for the Resort following the announcement that LRCH was no longer in partnership with Paramount.
LRCH now propose to have a variety of IP (intellectual property) partners, which will lead to a range of themed lands within the theme park. Contracts with six IP partners are close to being completed and LRCH anticipate these will be announced in due course.
The park is now proposed to be delivered in two phases by splitting it up into two ‘gates’ – Gate 1 would consist of a stand-alone theme park and account for approximately two-thirds of the overall scheme. Gate 1 would also feature the six IP partners currently being negotiated and be operational first. Gate 2 would provide further IP-partnered lands and further hotel accommodation, however, LRCH have advised that they will wait until Gate 1 is open before negotiating the IP partners for Gate 2 to ensure the IPs they intended to use were still relevant and desirable.
LRCH intend to secure development consent for both phases in one application and currently intends to submit their application in 2019, however have not specified at precisely which point in the year that will be.

Katherine Chew, vice-president of communications and PR at Resorts World Genting, Malaysia, recently spoke to BW Hotelier while on a trip to India. She said that the company expects Indian tourists to make up a large percentage of the resort’s visitors.

“Indians love shopping, fun and adventure. This family destination will offer an enriching experience for one and all,” she said.

“Indian tourist will come back to the theme parks and we hope to invite more Indians to the resort. By 2020, we expect 30 million tourist arrivals and India will contribute to this percentage in a huge way.”
The SkyTropolis Indoor Theme Park is also set to open alongside 20th Century Fox World at the resort.

A few more shots from the soon to open Wanda indoor park in Nanjing, China.

Now having a coaster themed to the areas ship building past is a little odd but fair enough, However choosing a standard model motocoaster for it seems like an odd choice

Bad news for funding the next stages of their projects as their stock price continues to fall and is predicted to get worse. They are in danger of being removed from the list of emerging markets stock listings which has given investors confidence thus far.

Theme-park owner DXB Entertainments PJSC, whose stock has tumbled more than 30 percent this year, could be poised for a deeper slide starting next month.
The shares have already slumped almost 3.6 times more than Dubai’s equity benchmark as the operator of a Legoland and a Bollywood-inspired attraction reorganizes debt and visitor numbers fall short of targets. That may worsen if the decline in market value prompts MSCI Inc. to cut the stock from its emerging-market index next month.

While the number of park visitors fell short of projections last year, it was 45 percent higher in the first quarter than the same period in 2017, the company said on April 12. It is sticking with a plan to open a Six Flags-branded park in Dubai in 2019, Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Almulla said last month.

Bad news for the future of this site again...

London Resort Company Holdings, the company behind the proposed tourist attraction, has confirmed its intention today to put back the submission of a planning application for land on the Swanscombe next year.

Nothing has been said about how this will affect its proposed opening date, which was put back for a fourth time last year to 2023.
Humphrey Percy, (LRCH CEO) said: “We have reached a pivotal gateway stage in our application preparation. We believe it’s important to be clear about the challenge in the preparation and delivery of a project of this scale and complexity. It is fair to say that we did not sufficiently estimate the scope for ‘unknown’ issues to impact our programme. One example of which has been the significant changes in the way in which we must assess the transport implications and consequent environmental impacts.

“We have, to date, spent approximately £55m and, as is not unusual for a project of this scale, the pace of activity has varied. We know that many people are disappointed that we are revising our programme, but we cannot, nor should we seek, to shortcut proper process in our assessments simply to meet our self-imposed deadlines. We are very much looking forward to progressing further with the project this year with the intention of submitting our application in 2019.”
The delay is the latest in a long line of set backs for LRCH and it was revealed last week that the £125 million A2 expansion scheme does not factor in the presence of the park, meaning the peninsula would be shut off if work was to go ahead.

This led Dan Bramwell, spokesman for the Peninsula Management Group which represents 140 businesses which would have to relocate to make way for the resort, to declare the project was "dead".

It is not yet confirmed what the delay means for the opening date, but even before the announcement members of PMG said the project's current status meant it would not be possible to open before 2026, three years later than scheduled.
