Despite recent assurances that the project is going ahead, and a renewed set of publicity rearing it's head in the UK with the same old headlines and artwork they have been using for years, it looks like prestigious leaders are now leaving the project.

One of London Paramount’s prominent figureheads has walked away from the project, just two months after the developer made a public assurance that the theme park was on track.

Fenlon Dunphy has played a major role in progressing the plans for the £2bn (US$3bn, €2.8bn) Kent-based theme park and resort, attending many of the public consultations and exhibitions held by developer London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH).

Progress on the project seemingly slowed when a planning application that was expected last year was delayed, but LRCH insists the scheme is going ahead.

Dunphy has given no reason for his departure, but local news provider Kent Online reports CEO David Testa is continuing as CEO and the rest of the team will stay the same.

Dunphy remains UK boss at LRCH’s parent company and Paramount’s largest investor, Kuwaiti European Holdings (KEHC), which he joined in 2013. KEHC is owned by Abdullah Al-Humaidi, who oversees the theme park and resort development alongside Testa and former politician Steven Norris.

The French Parc Astérix amusement park has postponed the opening of a new hotel. Actually, the intention was to use the hotel Les Quais de Lutèce this year. Now it is clear that the opening will only take place in the spring of 2020.

Les Quais de Lutèce is the third hotel of Parc Astérix, after Hôtel des Trois Hiboux (1999) and Le Cité Suspendue (2018). There will be 150 different rooms, a large restaurant and an indoor pool. The hotel is designed as a port town with water and bridges.

The Dubai Ain was still being "worked on" when I was in Dubai last week. To be honest it doesn't look like much progress since I last saw it in June 2018...

The second Wanda Park will open in 2019 in Wuxi, an old industrial city in Jiangsu Province. Thanks to its recent development, Wuxi, which now has more than 6 million inhabitants, is sometimes called "the little Shanghai".

The complex Wanda City of Wuxi should be modeled on its big brother Nanchang, with shopping center, amusement park and water.

Michael Mack has been hinting at the new ride to be built under 'Scandinavia'

    Source: https://twitter.com/MichaelMack/status/1090755236975792129

    Most likely guess is this

I think it is a new dark ride or experience in the basement of Scandinavia. I think the theming will be a story of the ACE « Le Soleil des Abysses » (I don’t know the name in German) because it’s an ACE story which happened in Norway

More lawsuits from local citizens for LEGOLAND New York.

Citizen activists on Monday filed a lawsuit accusing the operators of the future Legoland and Town of Goshen leaders of failing to protect local waterways from construction runoff.

Concerned Citizens for the Hudson Valley, a local nonprofit seeking to safeguard the environment, filed suit in state Supreme Court in Orange County to halt construction of the amusement park near Route 17′s Exit 125.
“While we cannot comment on pending litigation, we have been working continuously on stormwater management, through a year with 24 percent greater precipitation than average, in collaboration with our construction team, our engineers, NYSDEC and the Town of Goshen,” Royle said.

A pirate ship-shaped hotel could be built at Gulliver’s World theme park.
Bosses at the family-friendly attraction have applied for planning permission to build a 71-bedroom hotel and leisure resort close to the Warrington site.
The themed accommodation will include a hotel shaped like a pirate ship and a fairytale castle with luxury suites, family rooms and a village resort.
Known as the Wilderness Wharf, the development will also house a number of holiday lodges, alongside a café, craft centre and children’s indoor play centre.
A planning application for the project has been submitted. A decision is expected in April.
Consultancy County Planning, which has submitted plans on behalf of Gulliver’s Theme Parks and Leisure Resorts, says the extension would take between two to three years to build, subject to planning permission.
The £3.6m proposal would create 40 new jobs and add £6m to the town’s economy, the firm added.

Wuxi Wanda City have had to return some of their tracks to Mack due to issues with the base material of the track not being passed by customs.

From October 2016 to January 2018, Wuxi Wanda City Investment Co., Ltd. imported a set of catapult roller coaster tracks from Germany in six batches, valued at 2,382,300 euros. Wuxi Customs carried out safety performance inspection according to law and found that there are many problems of safety performance quality of linear defects in the local base metal of the track. After re-inspection after treatment by German technology, it still found that there were many safety performance quality problems in the local base material of the track. Wuxi Customs determined that the quality of 124 tracks of the full-explosive roller coaster was unqualified.
On the basis of the confirmation of all the work, Wuxi Customs issued the "Inspection Certificate", which ordered the Wanda City Investment Company to implement the return processing of all 124 tracks of the set of roller coaster. Faced with the test results, the German manufacturing exporters finally acknowledged that the serious quality and safety problems of the track were caused by the quality of the track raw materials, and agreed to the return of the entire batch of tracks, and assumed the economic losses caused.

Alton Towers in the UK is expanding to include a new Dungeons Attraction.

These latest details follow on from the announcement of the pricing for tickets to The Alton Towers Dungeon. Tickets purchased in advance will cost £5, whilst tickets purchased on the day will cost £7.50. Guests holding a Premium Alton Towers Season Pass will get one entry to the Dungeon per visit. In a move which has angered some guests, it has been confirmed via the Resort’s social media channels that Premium Merlin Annual Pass holders will not get The Alton Towers Dungeon included and will have to purchase a ticket.
Details unveiled by Birmingham Mail reveal just some of what awaits guests in the Resort’s newest addition which the Resort describe as being ‘hilariously hideous’. As has been widely rumoured, The Alton Towers Dungeon will incorporate a ‘hideously scary boat ride’, which will see it use the ride system previously used as part of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Toyland Tours, and Around the World in 80 Days.

Also included will be five actor-actor led shows, including a visit to a plague doctor, a session with the torturer, and at least two shows based on local legends including being sentenced by the Bishop of Stafford, and a stop at the Witch of Burslem’s haunted cottage. The full experience will take 45 minutes, and will combine interactive shows, and cutting edge theming and technology.
