Town of Goshen Building Inspector Neal Halloran has shut down the Legoland construction site, as park builders continue struggling to stop polluting local waterways.

Halloran unilaterally halted all construction on Tuesday at the Town of Goshen site near Route 17′s Exit 125, following heavy rain that led to puddling and runoff issues.

Goshen has previously temporarily halted construction on parts of the site, and Legoland has voluntarily stopped construction at times during heavy rain.

But now the site will remain closed until Legoland resolves the drainage issues, Halloran said on Wednesday. Runoff from the site has led to at least 28 state Department of Environmental Conservation citations for polluting local waterways with construction mud since May 2018, plus multiple Town of Goshen citations.

Halloran said Monday is the soonest construction could resume, provided there’s no more heavy rainfall and he sees an adequate remediation plan from the $500 million amusement park’s construction team.

    Guangzhou Sunac Cultural Tourism City

This most unique coaster features a layout, in which two dragon themed trains, one suspended and one sit-down, are dueling each other with a number of thrilling near-miss elements.

Utilizing Intamin’s most powerful LSM drive system, the trains are simultaneously launched forward into the loop. Stalling by gravity in the loop, the trains then move backwards into the already passed LSM section. Launching backwards, both trains pick up even more speed, allowing them to reach the crest of the 50 meter high vertical spike. This is when riders experience a stunning moment of zero-gravity weightlessness airtime with their eyes facing down. Accelerated by the LSM drive system for a third time, the trains reach their top speed of approx. 100 km/h (sit-down train) respectively 110 km/h (suspended train) while rushing forward, passing through the loop. Out of the loop, passengers will experience several heart-pounding inversions, breath-taking airtime elements and a total of five near-miss configurations, bringing riders feet respectively arms close to the other train. Even spectators will be amazed while watching the two dragons dueling each other.

Another distinctive element is the fact that the physical track length of the sit-down layout is 790 meters and of the suspended layout 830 meters, whereas the actual traveled distance is 980 meters and 1030 meters, which is a result of the forward-backward-forward launch.

This DUELING TRIPLE LSM LAUNCH COASTER is not only highly innovative in terms of layout and ride experience but also in respect to the technology incorportated. Besides the integrated water-cooling system for the LSM drives, this coaster features Intamin’s newest train design with ergonomically shaped seats, ensuring highest safety and maximum comfort.

More photos of the recently opened Sunac Water Park at Guangzhou Sunac Cultural Tourism City:

One of the rides at Sunac Water Park is a Cinesplash 5D by Attraktion! named "Wild & Wet Adventure" (4D水影院 in Chinese). This version of the water-based theater experience which has 36 seats allows riders to "realistically feel the big waves, storms, lightning, rain, fog, etc." while watching a 3D video. Riders must be at least six years old and at least 1.12 meters tall. This is Sunac's second waterpark to have a Cinesplash 5D. The first is at Sunac Water Park in Qingdao and the third will be opening in a little over a week at Sunac Water Park in Wuxi.

    Robot Land Masan

There unfortunately seems to be a potential issue with "Rapid Train", a Zamperla Thunderbolt model roller coaster at the park. According to a recent article, during recent testing of the ride some of the supports began to shake "violently" and make noise. An official from the park has said in a statement (paraphrased translation) "We are trying to guarantee the safety of the guests. There is no safety problem if slight shaking occurs."
