New permits which could be for the Star Wars hotel showing how the windows may work to give the impression that you're in space.

This “multiplane” screen uses a similar premise that the Multiplane camera, with multiple transparent displays showing different parts of the same image/video. This creates a sense of depth that can fool the viewer into thinking the images displayed on the screen are farther away than they actually are.

A screen like this could be used as a “fake window’ at the upcoming Star Wars Hotel or the upcoming Space Restaurant at Epcot. Users would think that the screen is actually a window looking out into the depths of space, with figures or objects moving around in a ‘3d space”.

More information from the patents below. These actually give you figures for the cost of certain attractions...

Permit BLD2016-03519 is for the Millenium Falcon attraction and surrounding area. The two-story building is 165,565 square feet. The total value for that section of the project is $77,875,833.
Six new permits filed with the city of Anaheim late last week show the immense scope of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park and hint at the value of the project. All six are related to the same parcel, but are individual permits for different pieces of the project. Based on the permits, the total estimated value of the project is over $181.3 million.

Permit BLD2016-05640 is for the Star Destroyer attraction and surrounding area. The two-story building, plus offices, and cast member restroom and break room is 115,206 square feet. The total value for that section of the project is $55,746,094.

Popular children's toy brand Sylvanian Families is celebrating its 35th anniversary by opening its own theme park attraction.

Opening as part of the Comorebi Mori no Ibaraido – a theme park in the city of Inashiki in the Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan – Sylvanian Park will cover 3,320sq m (36,000sq ft) and will be a recreation of the imaginary village of Sylvania.

Offering visitors the chance to explore the houses and familiar toy sets, visitors will meet the inhabitants of Sylvania, who they can interact with in the attraction. Additionally signature Sylvanian Village sights such as the Glitter Lake and Sesragi River have been recreated within the park, while a costume and face painting area will allow kids to be transformed into Sylvanian Family members.

Originally released in Japan in 1985, the woodland creature figures and their dollhouses were later released in the US and UK, eventually becoming a worldwide hit. The entire franchise of Sylvania is based on 1950s Great Britain.

The park will open on 23 June, with a special inauguration to be held later on 14 July.

The Disneyland Paris Fandaze event took place last week and a lot of announcements were made around the park expansion (although many were not news to this page) but I thought this transcript of Tom Fitzgerald was interesting on the way the expansion to the Studios park will be laid out.

We are in a hurry to share: 76 % of the construction and installation works are already over!

Now there are about 1500 people and 100 units of construction equipment in construction that work in 3 shifts to ensure high quality and speed of construction

The most responsible construction works are maintained around the clock, not for a second.

The Star Wars area has been named...

The announcement was made during a panel at a nighttime event at Disney's Hollywood Studios called Star Wars: Galactic Nights.

The village is called Black Spire Outpost and is located on the planet Batuu.

According to the backstory, it's the planet's large settlement and is a known stop for traders and smugglers travelling around the Outer Rim.

Given the area and the layout, I think this is the most likely way its going to be built with the boundary hugging the existing construction on the beachfront.
