5 big announcements from LEGOLAND Florida today.

LEGOLAND Beach Retreat – opening mid-2017
This whimsically themed vacation resort combines the fun of surf, sand and sun with the creativity of LEGO® on a picturesque site next to Lake Dexter, adjacent to the theme park. Distinguished by a colorful LEGO lighthouse, the village-style, lakefront resort will feature 83 single-story duplex units, offering 166 separate accommodations that sleep up to five.

This ride is going to be so cool for kids. After learning the "moves" they will ride the dark ride and use simple gestures to "fight" the bad guys using their new ninja skills. Like a shooting ride but with no hardware required for the guest.

    LEGO NINJAGO® World – opening early 2017
Inspired by the popular series of LEGO building sets and the long-running TV show “LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu,” this all-new, fully immersive theme park land invites guests to step into a magical, martial arts kingdom where they’ll experience a first-of-its-kind attraction that blends eye-popping, 3D computer animation, “4D” atmospheric effects and groundbreaking technology by Montreal-based Triotech.
Creative Cove featuring Build-A-Boat – now open
Additional dining offerings, increased seating capacity and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the entire water park round out the all-new offerings for 2016.
“LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS™ 4D: The Book of Creativity” – opening May 26, 2016
Based on the new LEGO series of building sets and the just-launched TV show, the 12½-minute, immersive experience combines 3D computer animation with “4D,” real-world effects that bring the high-tech action bursting off the screen and into the audience.
LEGOLAND Night Lights – Summer 2016
The resort will debut its latest all-new event in June, a celebration of summertime fun featuring extended park hours, meet-and-greet opportunities with favorite LEGO characters, exclusive opportunities to build alongside LEGO Master Model Builders and a spectacular, brick-tacular NINJAGO fireworks display that will light the night above Lake Eloise with brilliant colors and triumphant music.
After close to 5 years of operation it looks like LEGOLAND are really pushing for more market share in Orlando.

New "Harry Potter" Style attraction for Nintendo at Universal Studios Japan could be opening in 2020

Kotaku reports, by way of Sankei news, that Nintendo intends to finalize a roughly $351 million deal on March 11th to fund a themed area located in Universal Studios Japan. Sankei also compared the scope of the Nintendo project to Universal Studios’ Harry Potter attraction “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.”
The Sankei story produced a conceptual map disclosing how much space would be dedicated to Nintendo’s area in the theme park. According to Kotaku, the red portion indicates Nintendo’s dedicated area, with green marking the rest of Universal Studios Japan.

Seaworld San Diego have applied for planning for a multi-million dollar expansion to accommodate a new "land"

“Ocean Explorer” is scheduled to open in the late spring next year on the southeast side of the theme park. According to SeaWorld officials, it will combine multiple aquariums, rides and digital technology aimed at providing guests with a sense of adventure while inspiring them to protect the oceans.
On one of the four rides planned at the three-acre attraction, visitors in chairs suspended from tentacles of a giant jelly will fly through thousands of bubbles.

A lot of news pointing to a potential new park for Universal in Florida

475 Acres of land was just purchased north of Universal Boulevard as shown on the map above.
Islands of Adventure is approx. 110 Acres and Universal Studios Florida is approx. 125 acres so there is plenty of room for new attractions, parks, hotels etc.

Thorpe Park has confirmed information about the new attraction currently being constructed for the 2016 season.

Curated by illusionist and mentalist Derren Brown, it is supposedly a revolutionary take on the ghost train, which features a 7 tonne, 65 foot railway carriage at it's heart, suspended in mid air by chains. The 13 minute experience will utilise grand illusion, 4D, live action and VR headsets, although it has been stressed that the VR will be a small part of the experience and this is not a VR ride.

Press release can be download from Thorpe Park's website here: https://www.thorpepark.com/press/press-releases/
