This is the new area at the top of the mountain that you will reach with the funicular and the cable car. It's kinda fun fair like, the coaster is very good, but I have to say that I like the old Ocean Park areas much much more. For some reason the new section has no charm. It's too many colors, too many noises, no real theming. Weren't it on top of a mountain in Hong Kong I think it wouldn't attract any attention!

Polar Adventure Land at the top of the mountain is still under construction. Cool idea, but in my opinion it looks a bit cheap!

From 2015 Ocean Park will have an MTR station

    South Island Line
It’s not only the folks at Kennedy Town and west of Hong Kong who were left out with the existing railway structure of the MTR. Southern District has also been unable to take advantage of railway efficiency. No wonder the only way to get to Ocean Park, in Aberdeen is through CityBus’ route 629. But that issue has long been resolved as construction of the South Island Line is now underway. Ocean Park, Wong Chuk Hang, Lei Tung and South Horizons will be named stations in this subway line along with Admiralty, which also serves as interchange station to Shatin to Central Link.

    Expected Year of Completion: 2015

What this brings: Travel time is greatly reduced. Once this line is open, travel time from Admiralty to Ocean Park will just be 4 minutes, while travelers from Admiralty to South Horizons will only spend 11 minutes travel time. (Enough of that dreaded Aberdeen Tunnel.) By completing this line and the long-awaited Shatin to Central Link, Hong Kong’s definition of travel efficiency will reach a higher level. Imagine the hassles of traveling from South Horizons going to Shatin at the moment. The new line should significantly cut travel time.

Hong Kong's Ocean Park has unveiled its latest attraction, offering visitors a nostalgic journey through the streets of old Hong Kong.

When visitors step off of Ocean Park's cable cars, they'll find themselves travelling back in time in this attraction which is a throwback to the Hong Kong of the 1950's, 60's and 70's.

Ocean Park's "Old Hong Kong" is what Mainstreet is to Disneyland.

There are two phases of the expansion still to come. Thrill Mountain, a new “attraction area,” including a roller-coaster called Hair Raiser, is due to open later this year, and Polar Adventure is scheduled to open in mid-2012.
I think Thrill Mountain is already operating!
