Lost Island Waterpark in Iowa, USA is adding a theme park to its estate.

With a significant budget of $ 100 million, Lost Island Themepark will be partly funded by the state and the city. Work began in September 2019.

The new park is expected to span 200 acres, 30 of which will be divided into 5 thematic zones. It will include various attractions, created to offer an immersion in the magical country stories that can only be found on Lost Island .

After almost six years of preparation, construction of the park-integrated themed hotel will now start. The hotel is phase one of the Liseberg’s expansion project, celebrating the park’s centennial in 2023. Phase two will be a fully integrated indoor waterpark.
Liseberg Grand Curiosa Hotel will be highly themed and fully focused on families with children, and with slides between the floors and a fully integrated wooden carousel from 1923 in the main restaurant, the intent is to create a fully immersive experience. The conceptual platform for the hotel has taken its inspiration from the history of Gothenburg and the East India Trading Company, in combination with Liseberg’s own unique DNA.

The total investment for the hotel project is SEK 1,179m. Phase 2 of the project – the indoor water park – will start construction in 2020.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort have submitted plans to install a new Egyptian themed drop tower ride to replace Rameses Revenge, along with the relocation of Flying Jumbos.

Proposed to be located in the Forbidden Kingdom area of the theme park, the new drop tower will be a direct replacement for Rameses Revenge. Standing at an overall height of 25.6m, the base of the tower will be set in the existing hollow alongside the ride’s operator cabin and plant and mechanical rooms. Guests will be carried to the top of the ride on board a 16 seat gondola, before released to ‘free-fall’ down the tower. Although it is not stated within the application who the manufacturer of the ride is, plans do confirm that there are no comparable attractions at Merlin parks in the UK, ruling out the possibility that it could be a transfer of an existing attraction.
