Although construction of the park continues, issues regarding the risk of damaging buried ruins at the site remain. Earlier this week a preservation group photographed evidence of a ditch being dug on top of ruins. They reported this to the Cultural Heritage Administration and now construction on the ditch specifically has stopped. The ditch is pictured in the last photo below:

As of March 16, construction of Legoland Korea overall is 14% complete and the Legoland Hotel is expected to begin construction later this month. The theme park which is supposed to open in May 2021 may actually have its grand opening in July 2021.

Yesterday Phil Royle (Director for LEGOLAND Developements) posted this from Korea. Looks like work is still ongoing on site.

LEGOLAND Korea continues to court controversy with its damage to the ancient ruins being highlighted again in February. The last time this happened the site was closed down for a period of time and caused delays.

Since the visit to the site on January 31st Jungdo Headquarters discovered that the pond was formed due to water from the lake flowing to the site where the construction company had excavated to carry out LEGOLAND waterway construction. Even though the damage was reported construction has continued to the full 500m of waterway and as yet no charges have been brought.
