Construction of the park has accelerated but despite that, the opening has now been pushed back to 2019.

Officials from the local Lingshui government recently visited the site and are working to help accelerate construction of the marine life park and waterpark. To ensure that Hainan Ocean Paradise opens as soon as possible, they are strengthening coordination and scheduling, increasing the number of workers and equipment, and streamlining the construction approval process.

Hainan Ocean Paradise has opened a 5,000 square meter marine animal rescue facility at the park called Blue Ocean Conservation & Rescue Center, which cost over $6 million to build. Hainan Ocean Paradise is working with both local and international organizations and government agencies, including Vancouver Aquarium in Canada, to make the rescue and conservation program as successful as possible. The park itself is not open yet and is still under construction. Similarly, the opening of the rescue center prior to park opening is also the plan for SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.

Triotech, in cooperation with Hainan R&F Marine Joy World Co., Ltd., has built a large-scale interactive dark ride for Hainan R & F Ocean Joy World, covering an area of 1,000 square meters. At present, the equipment has been produced and the venue is being prepared. The project is planned to be opened to the public in mid-2018. TRIOTECH's interactive Dark Riding technology is advanced and safe, providing travelers with a dynamic experience through rides and tracks. It is based on a 3D projection system that includes high-quality media films, multiple large-size 3D screens, 4D effects and ride-on-track rides for people of all ages.

Holovis is currently designing and installing a 23-meter-diameter dome project at Hainan R & F Marine Joyworld. It will be able to carry 200 people, immersing tourists in a 360-degree projection show and completely enveloping their perspectives. Perfect sync surround sound will enhance the experience of the effect, so that the audience felt as if the depths of the ocean center, for a adventure trip. In order to create this project, Holovis has developed a patented "PixControl" automatic projection correction technology that ensures the automatic correction and fusion of multiple projection pictures at a single touch. Once installed and open to the public, operators can use this technology to ensure that every show is perfect and does not require any specialist training or technical support.

A recent scale model shows a monorail is now part of the plans. The image is from an article from October 2017 and says Hainan Ocean Paradise is scheduled to open on June 30, 2018 but I personally doubt it will be ready - maybe the water park will open then.
