This scale model of Dubai Parks & Resort looks amazing and really gives a flavour of what the finished park will feel like. A great video, I wish all parks would produce these types of videos as it's so much easier to get a feel for the attraction and how everything will be laid out.

New drone pictures from over DPR showing where the themed lands will sit on the current site.
I feel like this photo isn't as up to date as some I have seen but they are claiming it was "the other day" so I will give them the benefit...

So it looks like October has been revised down to September 1st.

Paul La France, chief project officer, Dubai Parks and Resorts, said: "Our MEP work has fallen a bit behind [deadline] projections for the end of this year.
"We start to turn over pieces of the park next January - February timeframe and there's a sequence of handover through 2016 culminating in a soft opening on September 1, 2016."

The Dragon rollercoaster, one of Legoland Dubai’s most anticipated attractions for children, is the first ride to be installed at Dubai Parks and Resorts.
Looks like a pretty close to completion coaster.
A few more photos available on this site. Check out the Smurf houses.

DPR have also been doing some major recruitment drives this past week for actors, entertainers etc which gives me confidence that October 2016 will be hit. Entertainers are a big overhead to have on the payroll this early in the project especially if you think you might not hit your opening schedule.

They have been advertising over their own page, Twitter, facebook and pushing this with PR.

However http://careers.dubaiparksandresorts.com/vacancies/ shows that as yet they are still recruiting for most of their HR & Recruitment managers/directors etc so part of me wonders if this is just keeping up the PR activity for the time being.

  10. With more than 50 per cent of the site-wide infrastructure in place, the multibillion dirham Dubai Parks and Resorts development is cruising along to its opening day in October next. Development costs on the future destination — which will feature as many as 100 rides and attractions from the opening day — is expected to hit the Dh5.9 billion mark by year-end.

And each passing week will keep adding to the project milestones. By the end of the year, 65 per cent of the entire resort development, 100 per cent of the infrastructure for the projects and 99 per cent of the ride engineering and manufacturing are in line for completion.

“At the 30 per cent mark itself of the project, we could say we have moved into autopilot mode,” said Raed Al Nuaimi, CEO. “Because by that stage and for a project of this scope, the major risks are behind it, because all of the design works have been done, the contracts ordered, etc.
